aktpics > Day 188 - Not so ugly duckling. This little guy was hatched about a week ago. Somehow there was some mixup with the eggs and a chicken was nesting them. The ducklings think the chicken is their mother and she is caring for them as if they were her own. It is cute and fascinating at the same time. I did take a bunch of pictures of the mother hen and her ducklings, but I am sorry to say I haven't posted them yet. I sure will be busy when I get home:)
aktpics > August 20, 2009 - Kanab, UT.I got the rental car today and I went for an evening drive along RT 89.
aktpics > Day 297 - Fun with mirrors.And with photoshop, of course :) I am almost a day behind with posting. I have been crazy busy with running around, fixing stuff and moving my things into the RV. There really are a lot of places to put stuff in the RV, but they are all very small. A lot of the time I am spending is planning what to take and where to put it. On a positive note, I got a great night of sleep and no dead mice to deal with in the morning.
aktpics > Day 354 - Lady Kate & Maria. (8/5/2009).Guess who's hand is on my head? I'll give you a hint...it was meant to be rabbit ears, but I was on to her. Quite a hairdoo I'm sporting I just noticed. What can I say - I was given a "premium" spot for my RV, wonderful dinner and conversation. And I got to spend a day taking pictures with LK & Maria in the beautiful Big Sur. Not to mention, Mikhi and Merlin got plenty of attention too. I really wish I had more time with LK, Greg and Maria...we'll have to see what google maps has to say about that. I will post the pictures I took tomorrow. Be sure to check out LK's when she posts them - I have a feeling she got some good ones ;)
aktpics > Day 213 - Wide. I have caught myself staring at this wall quite a bit. It kind of looks like it has a wide, gaping smile. I thought it would be fun to see how it looked through the distortion of the wide angle lens, from an unusual perspective. I have been having lots of fun with this lens lately.
aktpics > Day 172 - In Need of a Shave. I thought this might make for an interesting composition. However, I can't seem to come up with a suitable title.
aktpics > Day 152 - I Surrender. My mom still lives in the town that I grew up in. Sometime during the last couple of years this thing showed up. I think these helicopters are really cool, but it seems so out of place. Driving down the main drag in town there's a seven-11, funeral home, police station, public library and attack helicopter. It was kind of bugging me so I went to check it out today. Well I guess I can take comfort in knowing that my mom is well protected.
aktpics > Day 146 - In Treatment. That is the name of this HBO series that Amy and I started watching. It's about a psychiatrist and each episode is a therapy session. Days 1-4 are with his patients. Day 5, it is a session with he and his therapist. Tonight we polished off episode 21 and a plate full of quesadillas. I am always so impressed with what HBO comes up with.
aktpics > Day 323 - Treasure.I haven't found any buried treasure yet but I have gotten one of these sunsets almost every night since I have been here. The Chesapeake Bay is right behind those trees. That might have something to do with it. I merged two images to try to get more color from the sunset. I kind of got sloppy around the treeline but I was getting tired. You can see the tops of the two telephone poles are darker than the bottoms.
