aktpics > Day 344 - Dirt (2/17/2009)Hello everyone! Yeah, I'm still alive. Thanks to some friendly nudges from friends I have blown the dust off of my camera to see if it still works.

I got a couple of truck loads full of fill dirt delivered and I needed to move it around. Fortunatly, I found out that Lloyd has a bucket for his tractor. It sure beats the hell out of a using a shovel.

This camera angle was inspired by one of JY's photos, which I have always really liked.

I hope everyone is doing well. I also hope I can keep the dust off of my gear and not be such a stranger.
aktpics > Day 343 - Ilprepared (12/06/2008)I guess it has been a while since I have been in the midwest in the winter time. Not exactly my idea of an RV vacation.

Although it did snow all day today at least it wasn't brutally cold and I was able to get a lot done on the RV today.
aktpics > Day 342 - Coffee Break (12/05/2008)I guess you could say that I am taking a coffee break from the hectic reality that I call life.

The year is almost over and I still haven't finished my project yet. I guess I better get busy. It would really suck to have put in all of that effort only to collapse with less than a month to go.

Last night is the first solid night of sleep I have gotten in a week. In the middle of an electrical upgrade to the RV, I had to make a trip to the midwest. So I put it back together in a somewhat unfinished state and headed west. The RV has been torturing me with mechanical "issues" ever since. I was in Grand Rapids, MI for a couple of days and now I am in South Bend, IN staying with my grandmother while I make some much needed repairs to the RV.

It was 10 degrees (F) here this morning!
aktpics > Day 341 - Opening Day (11/01/2008)Today is opening day of Muzzleloader season and it sounds a bit like the 4th of July around here. I am not a hunter but I wanted to participate. I got out my pellet gun and stalked this 6 pointer.

I don't drink milk anymore so, sadly, this is just a trophy.
aktpics > Day 340 - SMMC, Cape Charles, VA (11/01/2008)SmugMug Mini Convention. I had the pleasure of getting together with John (300m) and Hillary and their families for lunch. It was a pleasure to see Hillary again and to meet Steve, John, Brenda and Kara.

I don't want to gloss over the fact that I have been MIA for the past month or so. I was just so tired of seeing my "I'm too tired to be creative" photos. I have 25 days to go to finish this project and would really like to. I have decided to give myself a bit of leeway as to when I take and post my pictures. My only requirement is that I finish this year.

Thanks to all of my friends, family and fellow smugmuggers who have been so supportive.

Oh, and I actually created a new community called "SmugmugSocial". Anyone can join. My intention is that perhaps this will encourage more SMMC gatherings. No obligations and join at your own risk (I've never never hosted one of these before :)
aktpics > Day 339 -Brian Hart.Brian was in NJ on business. In fact, he was staying very close to my favorite restaurant, Iberias. We shared some sangria, rodesio and great conversation.

I really enjoyed meeting Brian and I hope we can get together again.
aktpics > Day 338 -Camera Lazy.At this point, I am certainly not camera shy. I remember seeing this in place of a picture in my yearbook when a picture of someone was not available.

I am struggling these days to find the time and energy to post. Less than a month to go too.
aktpics > Day 337 -Blowout.Having your friends loan you their RV for free so you can try it out: Priceless.

Having a blowout on the NJ Turnpike: $615.

I always wondered how much it cost when I would see a tractor trailor getting a new tire on the highway. I am going to buy some tire irons and keep a compressor on board from now on.
aktpics > Day 336 -Dishwasher.I am on the fence about whether or not I miss having an automatic dishwasher. The nice thing is that now I don't need to have an entire set of dishes just for myself anymore. Also, I really didn't enjoy emptying the dishwasher either.

I hired a laborer today and beween the two of us we dug 4 20' by 2 feet deep trenches and extened all of the drainpipes away from the barn. My body is so sore.
